We're pleased to announce the multi-range edit feature in the MediaCAT editor. Designed to minimize repetitive tasks, this feature enables mass edits with ease and efficiency. This enhancement allows users to select and edit multiple subtitles simultaneously, streamlining the editing process. With multi-range edit, users can apply positioning, add tags, adjust timecodes, and remove subtitles in bulk, among other functionalities.
Here is how you can utilize multi-range editing:
1.To begin editing in multi-range mode, select the subtitles you want to edit. You can do this by marking the checkbox at the top left corner of each subtitle, or by clicking subtitles while holding down the Command key (Control for Windows). For consecutive subtitles, hold the Shift key to select a range. Once you've selected one or more subtitles, a pop-up menu will appear at the bottom of the editor. This menu offers options to select all subtitles, reverse your selection, or enter the edit mode.
2.Selecting 'Edit' from the pop-up menu opens a new modal that allows you to enter edit mode. In this modal, you can choose to mass edit subtitle content, adjust timecodes, or remove subtitles.
3.Choose the type of edits you want to make, then apply them by clicking 'Do it!' at the bottom of the modal. If you accidentally make unwanted changes to the range of subtitles, don't worry. You can simply use the 'undo' function once to reverse the range edit.
