How to Transcribe and Translate Media with MediaCAT Box App

With the XL8's MediaCAT Box app, you can easily transcribe media files and translate them into different languages using AI-powered speech-to-text (STT) and machine translation (MT) technology. Follow this step-by-step guide to get started.

Step 1: Install the XL8 MediaCAT Box App

Go to the Box App Center.
Search for "MediaCAT"
Click "Install" and follow the on-screen prompts to connect the app to your Box account.

Step 2: Upload Media Files to Box

Log in to your Box account.
Navigate to the folder where you want to store your media files.
Click "Upload" and select your audio or video file from your device.

Step 3: Transcribe Media Files

After uploading your media file, right-click on it and select "Transcribe with MediaCAT"
The app will process the file using AI-based speech-to-text technology and generate a transcription in the original language.
Once the transcription is complete, you’ll receive a notification and a new text file with the transcription will be saved in your Box folder.

Step 4: Translate Transcriptions

To translate the transcribed text into another language, right-click on the transcription file and select "Translate with MediaCAT"
Choose your desired target language from the list.
The app will translate the transcription using AI-based machine translation technology.
The translated text will be saved as a new file in your Box folder, ready for you to use.

Step 5: Download or Share Transcriptions and Translations

Once your transcription and translation are ready, you can download them by clicking the download button.
Alternatively, share the files with your team or clients directly from Box.
