1. Getting Started
No software installation required! From signup to your first session takes just a few minutes.
(1) Sign Up
If you're new to EventCAT:
- Go to the EventCAT Conference page
- Click on 'Don't have an account'?
- Register with your email and basic information
- Verify your email to complete signup
If you already have an EventCAT account, you can skip the sign-up process and start from 'Settings.'
Try the Free Trial (10 minutes)
Want to see how it works before your event?
Log in and click Start Free Trial
Choose the spoken and subtitle languages
Test the service in real-time—just like during an actual event
The trial will end automatically after 10 minutes. You can stop it anytime using Stop Session.
(2) Set Up Your First Session
Step 1. Choose Languages
- Speaking Languages
Please select all the languages the speaker will use so EventCAT can accurately interpret and translate them. For best translation results, be sure to include all languages spoken by presenters or moderators.
- Languages to Translate
Please select the target languages that should appear as subtitles.
Tip: Choosing more than 3 subtitle languages may slightly affect speed.
- Same as Spoken Languages
If the spoken and translated languages are the same, you can use the "Same as Spoken Languages" option for easier setup
Advanced Settings
Customize your translation experience with these advanced options:
SMT (Experimental): Enables smarter handling of ongoing translations by avoiding unnecessary changes to already translated text.
Speaker Diarization: Detects and labels different speakers by voice for clearer attribution in subtitles.
Synchronized Translation: Ensures accurate timing between spoken words and subtitles—required for Caption Overlay mode.
Profanity Filter: Automatically detects and filters out offensive or inappropriate language in real-time.
Tip: These settings can improve clarity and personalization for larger or more formal meetings.
Checklist Before You Begin
Microphone Setup
- Is your microphone turned on properly?
If testing on a laptop, go to Control Panel > Sound > Laptop Microphone and make sure it's selected.
Is the environment quiet enough to capture your voice clearly?
If there’s background noise, translation quality may be reduced.
Internet Connection
- Please check your internet connection! A stable internet connection is required for real-time translation and subtitle features to work properly.
Step 2-1. Start Your Free Trial Session
Click the 'Start Session' button on the top right to begin your 10-minute free trial.
EventCAT will begin translating speech detected through your microphone into subtitles in real-time.
You cannot pause the free trial once it begins. Click 'Stop Session' to end the trial early if needed.
Step 2-2 Preview Page for Audience
View the real-time subtitle screen as seen by the audience
- Click the ‘Preview’ button on the left panel to switch to the audience view.
Differences between Admin and Preview Pages
- On the Admin page, you can see subtitles for all selected languages.
- On the Preview page, you can select and display up to two target languages for the audience.
- Attendees can choose which language they prefer using the Main / Second Language dropdown at the bottom.

(3) Choose Your Plan
Choose the right plan based on your event size and duration:
Prepaid – $40/hour
For short sessions. Includes 100 QR codes, basic translation, custom glossary, and email support.Half-Day Pass – $300/6 hours (Popular)
Great for mid-sized events. Includes 300 QR codes, high translation accuracy, enhanced AI, and live support.All-Day Pass – $600/24 hours
Ideal for full-day events. Includes 500 QR codes, top-tier translation, full customization, and live support.
2. How to Use Them
EventCAT Conference allows you to set up sessions using the reservation feature.
Shall we create a session easily and quickly?
(1) Schedule a Conference
You can set up sessions using EventCAT Conference's reservation feature.
1. Go to [EventCAT Conference] → [Schedule Conference] → Click the [Create Scheduled Conference]
button to go to the reservation screen.
2. Fill out the following:
Title – Name of your event (can be changed later)
Please enter the name of the event and the conference title to create a conference!
You can change the conference title at any time.
Time & Date – For planning and support purposes
If you're preparing multiple events at the same time, you can use EventCAT Conference to manage and avoid schedule conflicts by entering specific information for each event.
- Location – Helps with on-site assistance
- Website URL – Adds context for better AI preparation
- QR Code / URL– Instantly generated for audience access
- This QR code allows the audience on-site to quickly access the translated screen from anywhere!
- Distribute it before the event to run the conference more smoothly.
* Note: Once created, QR codes cannot be changed.
Click Save once all details are entered.
(2) Creating a Session
After scheduling the conference, set up sessions under it.
1. Scroll down to Sessions and click Create Session
2. Fill in the session details:

Glossary (to teach key terms to AI)
Session Visibility (Public/Private)
Shareable QR Code
Caption Overlay (for on-screen subtitles)
Session Overview - You can set the required languages, glossary, and more for each session
- Speaking Languages
- Select all the languages that EventCAT should listen to and translate.
- Include all languages used by speakers and moderators for effective translation.
- Languages to Translate
- Select all the target languages that will be shown as subtitles.
- Note: If you select more than three languages, there may be slight delays.
- Same as Spoken Languages
- If the spoken and target languages are the same, use this option for easier setup.
- Glossary
- Teach frequently used terms to improve translation quality.

- Session Visibility
- Set whether the session is public or private.
- QR Code For Audience
- Share the QR Code among the atendees.
- If you’re sharing a URL or QR code with the audience, make sure to set it as ‘Public’!
- Caption Overlay(For Event Screens)
- To display subtitles directly on screens during the event:
1. Select the 'Caption Overlay' option
Available starting from the Half-Day Pass plan. Make sure to complete the payment.
2. Choose the '+Caption Overlay' plan
Select this option to enable the feature.
3. Click 'Start Session' after setup.
Once everything is configured, click ‘Create and Next’ to complete session setup.
Device Setup (For On-Site Events)
If you're connecting professional microphones:
Typically, microphones used in events use a thick round XLR connector (wired or wireless).
Since regular laptops can't accept XLR directly, you'll need to properly connect the laptop, audio interface, and microphone!

- Connect the audio interface to the laptop using a USB or A-to-C adapter.
- Connect the microphone to the audio interface.
