Subtitle events in '.scc' formats necessitate a specific loading time before they can be accurately displayed. It's essential for users to ensure that all subtitle events within a file are allotted sufficient loading time. Timecode Overrun errors can lead to the creation of faulty '.scc' files, which may result in the failure of broadcast equipment to display the subtitles correctly. Given the complexity of calculating loading times accurately—a task beyond manual efforts during the QC process—our system performs these calculations with precision. This validation process offers users the assurance needed to create error-free '.scc' files in MediaCAT.
Activation via Validation Guide
To activate Timecode Overrun Validation, the feature must be enabled via MediaCAT’s Validation Guide. We strongly advise users to establish a dedicated validation guide for .SCC formats with Timecode Overrun Validation enabled, which can then be applied to relevant projects and tasks involving `.scc` formats.
Usage in Subtitle Editor
Once Timecode Overrun Validation is activated via the Validation Guide, the editor will notify users of errors in several ways: initially, through live warnings within individual subtitle segments, and subsequently via the Validate feature, which identifies all Timecode Overrun errors in the file. Users are then guided by the system on the necessary steps to correct these Timecode Overrun errors.
